First, I do wish to thank you very kindly for your interest.  This is truly a people business, and I am deeply grateful to those trusting souls who come to me with their sometimes vague but always precious ideas and hand them over to me to play with and visualize for them.  I really get a kick out of doing this, but besides that, it's an honor to work with each and every person who decides to entrust me with their valuable time and hard-earned money.  Sometimes I'm approached to design a small, basic tattoo, or occasionally a large, elaborate piece, but either way I take an enormous amount of pride in the work that I do, and it's for that reason that I like to spend time asking as many clarifying questions as I can think of, and generally getting my clients to tell me about what makes them feel amazing and excited!  As with any working relationship, the magic happens with the combination of trust, give and take, and the sum is greater than the parts. I am so fired up by this process, I can't even tell you!

I believe that tattoos are most often about transformation.  They help us to signify what we believe to be personally important, and that is an extremely powerful thing to do, especially in the world we live in, where we get plenty of, often unsolicited, input about what should matter.  I'm frequently asked "Why (get tattooed)?"  For me, it just seems completely logical that when one discovers a truth that resonates, it's only natural to grab onto the reins and hold tight.  Tattoos are very bold statements for some, and for others of us, that is precisely why they make perfect sense.  Oh yeah, and they are pretty to look at too, so that helps.

Ultimately I want to convey that I do take this seriously. That being said, I hope that it's obvious that I try my best to come to my profession with a light, genuine and kindhearted approach.  It just feels better that way.

Last but not least, getting a tattoo should feel like putting on your "true" skin, and the process to get there should be as carefully considered as say, picking out a wedding dress (at least).  All good things take time and that is my advice on how to go: slowly, carefully, doing your research, daydreaming, talking it out, taking advice and finally when you are ready, it unfolds effortlessly and there you are, enhanced.  More YOU somehow.

How lucky am I to do this for a living?
